Shadows Crossing
Lyrics by Louise (Flemming) Phillips, Music by Rusty Newcomer and Scott Robey

Drifting Shadows from the past
Lights from lives unknown
Deep in your subconscious mind
Things you have never known
Painting pictures behind your eyes
See the colors disappear
Hold the memory of the past
In words you cannot hear

I have waited all my life
To find a soul just like my own
Now the fates pull us apart
But they don't know how much we've grown
Together in that mortal life
And I don't want to let you go
So come with me into the light
Hand and hand with me once more

Will you come or will you stay
With all your pains from yesterday
Bright the light shines, so please don't hide
Come with me to the otherside

Electric man is trying to make your heart beat
What kind of life does he think he's promising
Why can't he see the living tragedy
He's trying to force upon you and me

Machines that tie you to the earth
Are what's keeping you from me
Arms and hands of caring friends
Are holding your morality
There is another life to share
A painless peaceful part of time
So say good-bye, my love, and cross
The river to the other side

Story Behind the Song:
This was one of those strange ideas I had one time and wrote some music for. I presented the story idea to Louise (Flemming) Phillips and she penned the lyrics for it. Louise is a terrific word smith from Manchester England who has two citations from the Queen of England for her writing.
