Lyrics
In The City
by Kathy Hartman

Well I'm venturing out In the city
From the safety of myself Feelin' gritty
Gonna dream in all the colors of the rainbow
Bein' drown in a concrete sea of people
Hey In the city Aw New York City
Well I'm up and I'm out Feelin' hungry for a lifetime
Of securialaty In the city
Lookin' for the right fit Shinin' up my conscience
In the city Aw New York City
Hey in the city The dirty city
Can I work this out Can I make it happen
Gonna make it last When will I be cast
Cause I know that I can Learn it fast Yeah
Hey in the city Aw New York City
Seedy lookin' thieves Hiding in the eves
In the city Hey In the city
Danger is lurking On every corner
In the city A New York City
Now I'm pickin' up the pace I know I'll win the race
In the city Hey New York City In the city In the city
Now I'm stompin' the sidewalk My steps got purpose
Gonna take you with me If you wanna come along
Now I make my debut They all said I want you
Now I'm going to the top Ain't never going to stop
Yeah In the city Hey In the city
Stop lookin' for a bribe This ain't no free ride
Yeah If you want to make it big You got to play your own gig
Got to stop belly aching Feelin' sorry for yourself
Yeah In the city Aw New York City
Now I'm going to take a chance Gonna make everybody dance
Out on the streets Yeah In the city
Givin' out a shout Got to know what your about
Make it all work out Cause I'm headed straight out on the route
In the city Aw In the city Aw New York City
Yeah Here I come now
You get to make it all happen Gonna work it all out
Goin' straight to the top Ain't never gonna stop
Yeah In the city Aw got this city
This is my city New York City
Aw Dirty city All the seedy lookin' thieves
Hey In the city Aw New York City Aw In the city
I said the city I said the city Yeah New York City
This is my city
